"My approach to creating art springs from a deep appreciation of natural beauty and the desire to communicate my perceptions with others. I paint to capture the subtle yet varied changes in nature. I do this by carefully balancing the use of color and form to create moving landscapes with a strong atmospheric feel and sense of place. My medium of choice is pastel. The rich colors and textural layering give my paintings a luminous quality that I find especially satisfying. These paintings give voice to my experiences of the many places I have lived and traveled to and the impressions they have had on me.
